Graphic Designer

Assist/consult small businesses with visual communication. Create design solutions that have strong visual impact. Manage independent business services as a sole proprietor (all aspects of contract negotiation, giving price quotes, billing, etc.) Listen to each client and understand their needs before making and design decisions. Develop concepts and successfully translate those concepts into any and all mediums. Branding and logo design (initial concept, develop graphics, final design). T-shirts design (color separation, help with screen printing). Provide guidance and oversight on print and production needs, while managing print costs, working directly with printers and third party vendors. Work within tight deadlines and competing schedules.

Design/layout print and graphic materials such as fashion apparel catalog, brochures, flyers, advertisements, magazine layouts, graphic t-shirts, logos, infographics, etc. Assist web department in creating graphics for the web such as look and feel of websites, advertising, email blasts, infographics, product images, etc. Update existing design materials such as product catalog, product images, and web graphics. Assist in organization and preparation for yearly apparel, model photo shoot (work directly with local talent agencies to provide appropriate models, host casting call, final model selection, creating prepared shot list, organize apparel according to models and shot list, direct hair and make-up artist at shoot, work with photographer and art director during photo shoot). Retouch final images after shoot (clipping, color correcting, reshaping, making photos look their best). Manage time and resources effectively to meet deadlines.

Update sales collateral and product catalog. Product photography, editing and image cataloging. Manage work-flow/schedule while coordinating with sales and creative team. Stay in vogue with trends and new techniques in design field. Maintain and organize graphic media files. Mock up, hand-made packaging samples. Serve as creative point of contact for all sales support needs. Develop graphics from concept to completion (catalogs, icon development, packaging, logos, retail & trade show displays, website maintenance, etc.). Work directly with CEO, Product Developer, Sales Team, Creative Director on new product development, retail line reviews and production deadlines (Target, Walmart, Costco, Home Depot, etc.). Provide guidance and oversight on all print and production needs, (within U.S. and overseas) while managing print costs, working directly with printers and third party vendors. Work within tight deadlines and with competing schedules.
