Strategic Sourcing Manager

I have been in the apparel industry in one way or another my entire life, most recently living many of the last ten years abroad full-time in China, learning the language, the ground game, and sourcing from all of Southeast Asia.

I am an Apparel Production Sourcing and Systems Specialist with experience in critical and analytical approach to supply chain management and efficiencies. I have apparel sourcing production experience from raw materials to finished product in overseas and domestic supply chain, as well as running related business of sales to wholesale, consumer, and direct-to-retail channels.

Team management, detailed project planning, proactive attitude and responsibility for results are integral parts to the success of the business side of my apparel experience. 

We have produced apparel for action sports, lifestyle, leisure/casual, active, yoga, surf, kids, juniors, licensed brands, as well as private label brands for big box and specialty retailers and direct-to-retail.

In a nutshell, I'm responsible for sourcing and producing everything our designers design.

•	Research and analyze current economic and industry environment to direct business strategy and future development, most recently regarding the Trans-Pacific Partnership as it relates to sourcing strategy
•	Created new business segment by using company strength in overseas production to take stock inventory position and warehouse key apparel items in USA for fast-fashion, speed-to-market delivery servicing wholesale blank apparel decoration, domestic full-package custom apparel production, and retail sales
•	Worked directly with CEO to break down and streamline buying structure by specific category to maximize the specialization, expertise, and pricing in each area of production
•	Significantly reduced overhead and operational expenses after thorough analysis of existing operations
•	Initiated purchase order accounting using First Factory Cost to reduce duties paid on FOB shipments
•	Negotiate all sales contracts, purchase order pricing, placement, and deliveries


Associate Vice President of Business Development

•	Communicated and interfaced daily with existing customers to increase order volume, improve quality of customer service, and proactively troubleshoot any issues on orders in process
•	Brought on new customers and accounts, expanded total annual sales each year
•	Worked with retail partners to develop direct-to-retail apparel programs, including fashion trend forecasting, design and merchandising expertise, season planning, creation of sample lines, presentation, pricing, and sales
•	Held weekly production meetings with each customer to review pre-production approvals and work-in-process, identify industry trends, and develop and refine ongoing business strategy 


National Strategic Key Account Manager

•	Refined and implemented Time & Action Calendar, Pre-Production, and Work-in-Process reports for all customers, purchase orders, and production log; responsible for on-time delivery of every purchase order
•	Head of Trade Company merchandising team of 20 people; ensured pre-production approval on fabrications, trims, labels, fit specifications, and packaging for each purchase order before proceeding with bulk production
•	Sourced, evaluated, and integrated new production facilities throughout East China and Cambodia
•	Responsible for factory compliance with accepted social, ethical, and operational safety standards, and product compliance with Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 by accredited third-party auditors


Production & Supply Chain Logistics Manager

•	Created a Quality Control and Assurance team to significantly improve quality of apparel production in Chinese factories to comply with AQL2.5
•	Managed a team of QC personnel overseeing a group of more than 20 subcontracted production facilities and a production log of more than 100 simultaneous Works-in-Process at any given time
•	Implemented raw materials, in-line, and final inspection protocol, including reporting system to track the details of each individual factory and purchase order


Quality Control & Systems Manager

•	Specialist in residential landscape design and installation
•	Quoted projects as general contractor in landscape, planting, maintenance, water systems, masonry, and carpentry
•	Contracted professional trades and oversaw all subcontractor and project management, including timelines, budgets, labor and payroll
