Snowboard Instructor/Coach

I have worked as a full time Snowboard Instructor at Okemo Mountain Resort in Ludlow, VT for the past 5 seasons. I have also worked in the restaurant business for 25 years, mainly in the front of the house. Both fields have helped me develop exceptional customer satisfaction, conflict resolution, and business development skills which I feel would be extremely helpful as well as transferable to any position in customer service.

Use AASI (American Association of Snowboard Instructors) techniques to introduce, demonstrate and teach modern snowboarding styles to students ranging from beginner to expert.  Lead the development and instruction to students ranging from 7 years old to adult in group and private settings.  Coach Amplitude, which is a seasonal program for advanced to expert team members age 7-13 with a focus on competition preparation in Slopestyle and Halfpipe.  Member of the Staff Training team, provide on snow training for new and returning instructors.  

Work as a server in a high volume fine dining setting.  Responsibilities included but not limited to, all steps of service.  Primarily  focusing on the guest experience and overall satisfaction while maintaining current knowledge of seasonal farm to table offerings as well as an extensive wine list and cocktail menu.

Server

Responsible for overseeing front of the house staff, nightly accounting procedures, and closing of property.   Duties include training of new hire staff members, and assisting management with day to day operations of the restaurant.

Server/Supervisor

Responsible for the oversight of all front of the house staff members.  Create and implement a weekly schedule for a staff of 30 plus to run 4 revenue centers.  Day to day responsibilities include opening and or closing of the restaurant, assisting team members in all facets of service from open table reservation systems to guest interaction dealing with compliments and complaints.  Handled ordering and inventory of all Liquor, beer, and wine.  Responsible for 2 Manager on Duty shifts a month, which consisted of being accountable for all activities in all departments of a premier Hotel owned by Dartmouth College and operated by Pyramid Hotel Management Company.

Assistant Manager

Responsible for the management of all front of the house staff members. including training, scheduling, and development.  Developed and organized special events to impact sales including charitable events, wine and beer dinners as well as booking and coordinating live music.  Maintained all aspects of beverage sales including ordering, inventory, and cost control.  Established a warm and friendly Pub atmosphere with a neighborhood feel.  Responsible for all daily accounting and closing procedures. 

Manager

Part of the opening team at the largest and newest addition to the Clyde’s restaurant group located in the Washington D.C. metro area with sales exceeding 10 million annually.  Developed and created signature cocktails for a progressive market.  Day to day operations included bartending, mixology, staff and guest relations, inventory, and monitoring consistency of food and beverage service.
