Exercise Physiologist and Sales Associate

I am passionate about research, sports and the physiological performance behind sport product design. As a professional triathlete, athletic trainer, physiologist and researcher I am driven by the complexity of the human body and its untapped potential.

I have developed and run a custom gait analysis studio within the store where I perform gait analyses for customers. Based on the customers needs, the analyses address either performance or therapeutic discrepancies. Additionally the analyses can include custom built foot beds or proper shoe selection based on biomechanical disposition. I also act as a sales associate for the running, swimming, biking and triathlon departments when not in the studio.   

I review all UNM - Main Campus research protocols that deal with human subjects research to ensure that they abide by federal regulations for the protections of human subjects. I provide training and consultations to researchers as they develop study protocols, I develop educational and outreach materials for the office, and organize and help run monthly IRB meetings.

IRB Analyst

I race both short and long course triathlons professionally. Representing iTz Multisport Coaching, Elevate PHW, Sport Systems, and Rudy Project.

Professional Triathlete

Sold gym memberships, scheduled events, gym maintenance, wrote strength and conditioning programs, trained members on an individual basis tailoring workouts to their personal fitness goals.

Personal Trainer and Front Desk Clerk

Managed inventory, maintained floor displays, helped customers, ran cash register, answered phones, scheduled repairs.

Sales Associate

Oversaw human subject recruitment and scheduling, conducted strength and mobility testing, took subjects though rehabilitative exercise programs, aided in muscle biopsies, studied cellular and molecular regulation of muscle size using techniques such as western blots and qRT-PRC.

Graduate Research Assistant

Supervised and maintained safety of students while in the wilderness. Taught the students “hard skills” such as busting, leather work, wood work, camp chores and hiking. Oversaw progress and aided students in academic and therapeutic assignments. Topics including: English, Biology, Psychology, and Physical Education.

Wilderness Instructor

Taught labs in Anatomy, Physiology and Exercise Physiology. Taught lecture in Fitness Assessment and Programming, research assistant working with cellular and molecular regulation of muscle size, using techniques such as muscle cell culture, qRT-PCR and genotyping, aid in vivarium maintenance. Work Per Diem as an athletic trainer for various sporting events around the community.
