Footwear Design Intern - Outdoor Adventure Team

I am a problem solver, a puzzle seeker, and a lifelong learner. Some just call me a product designer. When I'm not conducting in the field user research, sketching concepts for a design project, or turning a block of wood on the lathe, I spend my time hiking, biking, rock climbing, snowboarding, and anything else that gets me outdoors. I am passionate about design and am always open to connecting with like minded people!

- Designed and developed footwear concept drawings, renderings and prototypes based on product design briefs and market analysis to meet consumer requirements and align with the brand for F18 & S19 seasons.
- Collaborated with the development department to maintain a practical concern for technical processes and manufacturing requirements.
- Assisted in completing CAD revisions, seasonal color-ups, technical packages, graphics, and trim details.
- Participated in classes pertaining to construction and mfg. of footwear.
- New upper designs for Kid’s Snow Stomper program adopted for Fall 2018 season in NA & EMEA markets.

- Led teams of students in the design and build of a High School Makerspace, Smart Rainwater Collector, and several other design focused building projects.
- Taught prototyping skills & design thinking principles through maker focused projects.
- Mentored students in the design for mass production of products for the Building Hero Etsy Store.
- Fabricated jigs to expedite the building process and increase efficiency/quality of products.

Product Designer, Educator, Building Hero

Industrial designer, design researcher, in-house electronics tinkerer, and office DJ for a start-up design firm that assists companies of all sizes through every stage of creative product design. I have had the pleasure of working on client projects ranging from aftermarket car parts and consumer electronics to sporting goods and even kids toys. Such a diverse client base, has allowed me to develop strong skills in areas like ethnographic research, market analysis, concept generation, sketching, physical prototyping, and 3D modeling.

- Partnered with engineers to design manufacturable products for clients large and small.
- Generated product concepts for internal sporting goods company Rival and Revel based on market trends and user needs analysis.
- Lead team of Designers and Engineers through the creative design phase of client projects.
- Created SolidWorks models of automotive parts now available at market.
- Managed PGA show booth design and fabrication.

Industrial Designer

- Worked to realize a working model for a new 2014 holiday promoted toy item.
- Collaborated with product designers on the Creations™ toy line to help vet product concepts for commercial feasibility as directed and mentored by Engineers.
- Provided SolidWorks models for members of the Engineering department.
- Dominated the weekly Mahjong match with co-workers from design, engineering, and marketing.
- Began my love for electronics tinkering.
