I started my career working in municipal recreation with the City of Downey (2002-2013) starting overseeing park facilities ensuring safety and cleanliness, and then later promoted to oversee staff and program development for city-wide events. The greatest experience I gained from the City of Downey was managing the Skate Park. Here I had the opportunity to organize skateboard competitions that catered to the communities needs by leading staff, ensure safety of facility budget, market event, developing timelines and a supply list. With the city I gained experience dealing with patrons who had complaints, wanted to make reservation or sign-up for activities in person or over the phone.  I am currently working for a non-profit called the Southern California Municipal Athletic Federation (SCMAF) as the Member Services Coordinator. With SCMAF, I oversee over 900 members by creating and promoting professional trainings where they can network and learn new trends in their field. I also sell recreation insurance for sport teams/leagues, contract class instructors, and members. I have received my B.A. from California State University Long Beach in 2011 in Recreation & Leisure Studies with two additional certificates (Therapeutic Recreation & Management of Nonprofit and Volunteer Services). 

Assist the Head Coach in effectively communicating and scheduling with Athletic Director, officials, other coaches, parents, and students ages 14-18.  
Maintain knowledge and compliance with the league and institutional rules.
Made recommendations to the head coach regarding effective practice routines and coaching techniques to enhance the performance of each student-athlete. 


High School Varsity Girls’ Soccer Assistant Coach 

Lead and organize the launch of the SCMAF skateboarding competition series throughout Southern California.
Increased enrolled membership by 100%.
Researched and stabilized all of SCMAF’s recreational insurance program sales and marketing media.
Assist the Executive Director with Board and accounting reports.
Set up and conduct cordial meetings with all Members.
Communicate clearly to finalize general liability certificate(s) of insurance and supplemental medical claims to the broker, carriers, agencies, and clients.


Member Services Coordinator

Summer Camp Director for children ages 5-10 & 10-14.
Coordinate city-wide special events including skateboard competitions, family fun run, carnivals, Fourth of July celebration, and teen programs.
Developed press releases for the local paper on community events.
Conduct and rate interviewees for potential Recreation Leader positions.
Lead orientation meeting and training for new hires.
Schedule, manage, review timecards, and evaluate staff performances at the community skate park and tennis center.
Develop and delegate daily policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for public usage at the Skate Park and Tennis Center.
Log, account, and budget tennis reservation revenue.  
Communicate with Supervisor, Manager, Director and other City Staff of park site conditions weekly.
Direct, schedule, and train all City volunteers ages 11- 18 for all park sites, city hall departments, and special events.
Photographer and receptionist for the Parks & Recreation.
