Freelance Bag + Headwear Designer

Responsible for meeting all deadlines within the development calendar, as well as smu’s (brands such as Panama Jack, Hard Rock, Stetson, Filson, REI, etc). 
Create Tech packs for development to spec.
Lead category design and work with the team (product manager, developer) to bring items from the briefing stage to product creation. 
Create design boards and visual line sheets for product management teams.
Execute production art, re-draw logo’s and assist Sr. Design manager with projects based off of priority Requirements.
Take part in leading the creative vision for the Baseball Cap category; design concepts and prototypes and gather/interpret insights from athletes and consumers. 
Work alongside a team of designers to develop brand-right concepts that translate into optimized commercial consumer product, ensuring aesthetic, quality and cost are consistent with the market. 
Based on product briefs, lead the creation of innovative new products in the categories and product types as assigned. 
 Participate in development trips to ensure vision and intent is executed successfully in the product development processes. 
Manage workload to ensure team is balanced and tracking to deadlines. 
Work with the category PLM to define seasonal projects and ensure creative inputs and business goals are in tandem. 
Partner with Product Development on setting seasonal innovation and incorporating current technologies into concepts.

Headwear Designer

-Design key headwear silhouettes per seasonal need and Sr. Designer's guidance.
-Create line art, color cads and production kits for headwear styles and graphics.
-Submit/manage files through the proofing and licensing processes.
-Collaborate with design, marketing and development regarding color schemes, color stories, and placement ideas based on trends, reaction to fabric/materials, and Brand Objectives.
-Own and track project status by partnering with development, marketing and design. Follow through to the end of the project troubleshooting and facilitating as needed.
-Archive and distribute final, correct designs and design kits to both internal and external customers.
-Design bags per seasonal apparel key stories to pitch to marketing.
-Personal Development work designing/maintaining 3D headwear and bags in Clo3D.
