Apparel Graphic Designer / Production Designer - Print Shop Operator at Rip Curl

While growing up in San Diego, California, I developed a love for art as well as surfing and skateboarding.  I had a great opportunity to attend California State University of Long Beach and progress as an artist.  I discovered that my art (illustration & graphic design) style consists of naturalism as well as surrealism.  Salvador Dali is one of many surrealist artists I've learned to appreciate and admire.  I also cultivated an eagerness design apparel and to paint on surfboards and skateboards.  One example is the surfboard I designed and painted in my profile picture above.  Bringing art into the sports industry is my dream and passion!

Print Shop Operator & Production Designer
Manage the printing of products with various materials for all North American retail stores, including point of purchase, wholesale accounts, and external accounts. Design and print large windows, foam cores, magnets, banners, posters, lightboxes, and table point of purchase. Work on and maintain printers and machines to ensure quality prints are produced. Contact installers and set up window installations to ensure installs are completed in a timely manner. Allocate, pack, and ship all printed products Assist with all company events, including maintaining all marketing materials for such events. Order and research quality print shop supplies and materials to limit company expenses.

Managed all major account orders for Nordstrom, Macy’s, Zappos, Amazon, The Buckle, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Nexcom, Swim Outlet, and Backcountry, and US Coast Guard. Maintained consistent communication with representatives, buyers, and receivers to ensure orders are allocated, produced, and received in a timely manner. Confirmed orders were entered correctly through Electronic Data Interchange and coordinate order transfer to the warehouse for routing and shipping. Uploaded order confirmations and GXS catalog seasonally.

Led the routing and shipping of all major accounts. Confirmed and invoiced orders. Organized and applied packing slips and UCC-128 labels to cartons. Palletized orders for all major accounts. Operated forklift to load trucks for all product pick-ups.

Quality Checker Analyst
Inspected and categorized the quality of snowboards. Executed repairs for boards, as well as prepared, finalized, and packaged boards for shipping. Engraved serial numbers for each board. Recorded data into Excel spreadsheets.

Graphics Specialist
Applied graphics to top sheets and bases by silk screening, hand-painting, and sublimating. Cleaned and prepared screens for printing. Mixed color formulas to match pantones. Adjusted graphics in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
