With 16 years of industrial design experience, I have a diverse background in medical products, personal protection, technical apparel and digital wearable design. I graduated from California College of the Arts, San Francisco, in 2001 with a BFA in Industrial Design. Immediately following I began a career in the action sports and technical athletic apparel industry with Fox Racing. Following that 5 year term I transitioned into the MotoGP and street bike categories where I found myself working for multiple Italian leather companies like AXO and Alpinestars. It’s here that I honed my craft in garment and footwear pattern making. After a long stint in the racing industries I moved into the tactical and industrial safety market spaces where I focused mainly on gloves and Personal protective apparel. Applying the materials and construction techniques I had learned in the motorsports industries allowed me to be an innovation driver in this new and sometimes overlooked category. Currently I am running my own design and product development consultancy called Liquid Sugar Design and teaching masters level design courses in two well know schools in the Bay Area.
