It is not enough to be sincere in tone and truthful in content to make a message stick. Successful messages require audience research, strategic framing, and precise execution. To make messages succeed I combine all three of those with visual, narrative, and strategic communications.

Advised Founder and communications consultants on brand direction. Designed collateral and edited copy for collateral used to influence potential sponsors.

Produced the firm’s first publicly released branding video.

Advised executive and senior staff on SEO, branding, social and online communications strategy.

Developed messaging and designed layout, typography, and color palettes for key brand documents.

Created and developed messaging for firm-wide communications with executive and senior staff, including weekly emails and presentation slide decks.

Designed and illustrated visual content for American Libraries magazine, Association policy reports, publications and digital media, including infographics, branding, and logos.

Maintained content for website (www.ala.org) and blog (District Dispatch).

Created and implemented style guide, covering UI/UX protocols, typography, etc. for online communications to establish brand consistency.

Created, initiated and oversaw social networking communications strategy on multiple social media platforms, including Tumblr (earning a Tumblr spotlight that attracted over 8,000 followers in seven months with a $0 budget), Facebook (including ads), and Twitter.
