In my studies at FIDM, I gained a raw awareness of the absurd amount of waste that’s produced within our industry. After graduating, I moved into an Airstream in Topanga Canyon and vowed to be sustainably innovative in my design career.
A water sign, I created sustainable swimwear for 6 years under my own label, CurleeBikini. That was my bootcamp: I developed a rich, self-taught skill in technical fit. As a Fellowship 500 member of the Ethical Fashion Forum, I also united with an international network of like-minded souls.
Since then, I’ve expanded my design and development range into womenswear, activewear, menswear, childrenswear and soft goods. I am highly skilled in managing the simultaneous development of multiple product lines. I am a cross-functional leader; from managing the flow of product, to supporting the design team in timely execution, to leading the charge for maximum efficiency. I am the proven lead in all technical fit decisions, and I've mastered the art of mediating between the needs of the factory floor and internal, product requirements.
My days of the handmade marketplace are long behind, but my foundation is sustainability and I ride with that dusty airstream vibe. I am organic plant fed, a daughter of the sea. I up-cycle all the things.
