Professional Bagpiper

My name is Conrad Worley and I have recently obtained a Master’s of Science degree in Sport Management and Policy from the University of Georgia. My goal is to one day work in an environment that allows me to build relationships and enhance my professional development. Working for the Mesa Rim Climbing Center would not only provide me with experiences that would be instrumental in the pursuit of my career goals, but also give me the chance to have a lasting impact in a professional environment.  

Recently, I had the privilege of working with the Town of Belleair Parks and Recreation Department in Belleair, Florida. The Recreation Leader I position, as well as the Special Events Internship, allowed me to gain a glimpse into the world of event management. As an employee with the Town of Belleair, it was my responsibility to market and manage major events such as the Sunset 5k and Fun Run, Sunday’s in Belleair Concert Series, Spring Fest, and The Recreation Center Golf Tournament. It was my duty to construct multiple bid packages, participate in sponsorship and fundraising activities, and manage the daily operations of the Dimmitt Community Center. The invaluable experience I have gained in the world sport business has directly contributed to my development as a professional.  
 
In addition to my interests in the field of Sport Management, I am also a professional highland bagpiper. Over the years I have had the opportunity to play with a number of bagpipe bands including the Atlanta Pipe Band and the North Carolina State University Pipe Band. These experiences have allowed me to work with a variety of people and to develop my interpersonal skills. I have been an active soloist since I was a young boy and have been fortunate enough to play for the United States Gold Medal and several other championships in North America. All of my involvement with the piping community has taught me the value of team work and collaboration in accomplishing tasks.

•	Provide personal instruction and coaching for students.
•	Develop lesson plans, workshops and programs to assist in teaching individuals. 
•	Perform at various events and functions both locally and internationally.  
•	Member of 78th Halifax Citadel Pipe Band of Halifax, Nova Scotia. (2015 & 2016 Atlantic Canadian Champions; 2015 & 2016 Nova Scotia Champions and 2014 North American Champions).  


•	Greeted customers in a professional manner to ensure a positive and memorable experience.
•	Designed and implemented the Town of Belleair Emergency Management Plan for the Belleair Recreation Department. 
•	Provided informative correspondence regarding recreation programs, leagues, and organized activities.
•	Coordinated a diverse range of administrative duties relating to the daily operation of the Dimmitt Community Center, Parks and Recreation facilities, and department events. 
•	Assisted in the Belleair Recreation Basketball League and the Belleair Recreation Flag Football League operations.
•	Monitored and oversaw in excess of 10 volunteers and camp counselors.


Recreation Leader I

•	Planned and successfully executed key events such as the Belleair Sunset 5K and Fun Run; the Sunday’s in Belleair Concert Series; Spring Fest and Arbor Day Celebration and The Belleair Recreation Center Golf Tournament. 
•	Participated in fundraising and sponsorship development activities. 
•	Drafted multiple contracts and bid packages for the Parks and Recreation Department (Holiday Lights Bid Package, Staging and Production, Dimmitt Community Center Vending).  
•	Managed Belleair Parks and Recreation facilities, RecDesk Pro Software, Black Mountain Software and Volgistics.  
•	Monitored in excess of 10 volunteers and recreation staff at event functions.  


Special Events Paid Internship 

•	Participated in game day operations, communications, and maintenance of WakeMed Soccer Park.
•	Operated and maintained StatCrew Software and public address systems/music during all NASL soccer matches. 
•	Drafted and complied game day match notes, press releases, and schedules for the RailHawks soccer team.
•	Supervised and directed interns and volunteers during RailHawks events.
