Hey! My name is Michael Meehan and I recently transitioned from 5 years of active duty service in the U.S. Army; I am now a first-year MBA student at the University of Washington. I have seen the power that the outdoors has to transform lives (through various camps and mentoring experiences), and I excited to utilize my time as a student to pivot my career into the outdoor industry. I am passionate about encouraging and promoting a healthy life spent in the outdoors! I am not a stranger to hard work, and I am open to any opportunity that allows me to contribute to the outdoor industry. I am currently looking for an internship opportunity for the summer of 2017. Knights of Heroes is an organization that empowers children who lost their fathers in military service through an annual wilderness adventure camp:                                                                                                                                                                                                    

• Supervised and managed the $1.4 million construction and renovation project of a mountain camp site under an expedited timeline; led four city planners and five volunteer construction companies to finish construction ahead of schedule
• Established a robust and efficient continuity system that controlled for the high volunteer turnover rate


Project Manager

• Platoon leader in South Korea responsible for 27 Soldiers and 14 family members while conducting point defense of runways and evacuation plans for civilians
• Site Commander in the Persian Gulf responsible for 140 Soldiers and the construction and operations of a remote installation
• Executive Officer in charge of coordinating the communication and operations for the brigade staff of a multi-compononent command in charge of ballistic missile defense for the continental United States
