Jessie Yun Liao
Fashion Design Assistant / Fashion Artist
Jessie Yun Liao is a fashion designer with a strong sense of beauty and art. She is a Taiwanese, but currently based in Chicago. Jessie holds a Master of Art in Design from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and a Bachelor of Science in Fashion and Textile from Fu Jen Catholic University.  Her design philosophy is a bridge that connects her feelings and imagination to reality, gives soul to her works, and makes meaning in eye-catching design for the public.  She is not only interested in structural silhouettes, but also in making her designs more extraordinary through innovative textures of fabric and materials.  Jessie's unique experiences across the USA and Asian enable her to bring a global vision and in-depth understanding of different cultures and markets.  Now she works as a fashion designer in Chicago fashion company.


1. Create new pattern for embroidery design.
2. Research fashion trend.
3. Make first samples.
4. Sketch new swimsuit designs.
5. Communicate with factory oversea.
6. Digitalize different  styles of bikinis and create color way.


1. Sketch new design and come up new concept with creative director.
2. Fabric and trim sourcing.
3. Arrange photo shoot for editorial campaign. 
4. Communicate with client and fulfill their requirement.


Associate Designer

1. Create new Patterns for new designs.
2. Fitting.
3. Sew first prototype.
4. Correct and Change patterns.
5. Alteration.


Pattern maker/ Seamstress

1. Responsible for draping the new collection and copy pattern for the designers.
2. Helping sew the samples and send them to the factory.
3. Translating the Chinese language into English.


Design Assistant Intern 


1. Responsible for producing digital flats and operating digital pattern documents.
2. Helping production managers to ensure that the new collection is made in a timely manner and within strict quality guidelines.
3. Testing the strength of new fabric.
