I have 10 seasons of experience working in the backcountry of Yellowstone, Yosemite, and the Grand Teton National Parks, as well as the Caribou-Targhee National Forest. I have been a director, supervisor, and educator in a variety of outdoor recreational programs and have vocationally managed high-risk activities in remote wilderness areas with exceptional professionalism.

I have a fervent passion and scholarship of history, literature, and culture. Expertise and experience in the outdoors has led me to avocational pursuits in forestry, and natural conservancy as well as philanthropic occupations, specifically among Burmese war refugees.

•	Oversaw and participated in the cultivation and harvesting of a wide variety of deciduous and coniferous trees
•	Monitored, pruned, transplanted, and treated with chemicals thousands of trees
•	Operated heavy machinery, including a variety of farming equipment and construction tractors
•	Plotted and prepared fields for planting 
•	Proficient at felling and logging large trees with a chainsaw and axe
•	Laid concrete pipe for drainage
•	Prepared grounds and poured concrete
•	Set water lines and dug trenches
•	Calipered, measured, and analyzed tree growth and health

•	Worked as a primary authority on backcountry management and wilderness ethics
•	Guided weeklong backpacking treks in Yosemite, ensuring the safety of both clients and the wilderness
•	Educated youth and adults in environmental appreciation, forestry, and backcountry etiquette
•	As the leading bear expert, I educated clients on bear precautions and encounters
•	Worked as a negotiator between the National Park Service and clients seeking to access the backcountry
•	Shuttled clients to and from trailhead destinations

Backcountry Staff

•	Personally directed and organized a successful weeklong adventure program involving camping and outdoor recreational/team-building activities (i.e. rock climbing, rappelling, swimming, canoeing, high-cope, archery, rifle shooting, etc.)
•	Interviewed and hired employees
•	Supervised and trained a staff to execute an outdoor adventure program
•	Handled marketing and bookings
•	Contacted and established personal relations with clients and vendors
•	Responsibly educated, entertained, and ensured the safety of hundreds of clients in an outdoor environment


Director

•	Trained and supervised a staff of wilderness recreation and backcountry guides in one of the most remote expanses of wilderness in the contiguous United States
•	Expertly navigated uncharted wilderness areas via orienteering skills, as well as supervised and executed high risk activities, such as regularly setting up rock climbing and rappelling anchors for 220 ft. natural sites
•	Directed a program designed to educate clients in backcountry etiquette, including Leave No Trace
•	Lectured on trail and backcountry safety, including first aid procedures and bear encounters
•	Handled, maintained, and logged technical gear and equipment, including remote radio transmissions
•	Managed a program and staff that guided weeklong backpacking treks
•	Worked with the National Forest Service clearing and building trails
•	Regularly used chainsaws, crosscut saws, pickaxes, axes, shovels, axes, sledge hammers, etc.  
•	Managed and designed revegetation areas for the Forest Service
