Alicia Chavez is currently the Sales and Marketing Associate at QuadKor in San Diego, where she is responsible for all outgoing marketing messages through email marketing and maintaining an out-bound sales call list to meet a monthly quota.

She graduated from San Diego State University in May 2015 with a bachelor's degree in journalism and an emphasis in media studies. As a student, she contributed much of her time to SDSU's student-run newspaper, The Daily Aztec, and the Society of Professional Journalists, the SDSU Chapter.

As Alicia develops a professional career, she is:
-strengthening her social media techniques with Hootsuite and Facebook Insights Data,
-building a creative portfolio using Piktochart, InDesign, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop,
-maintaining her copy editing skills through frequent email campaigns and blog posting,
-and challenging herself by learning HTML and CSS coding.

She is most interested in the growing online world of social media, such as Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram and Pinterest. Alicia is a self-motivating person and plans to use her social media skills to develop a professional career as a social media, marketing and communications expert.

-Developed a marketing campaign to improve the social media presence for a dog training company on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest
-Identified short- and long-term social media goals, such a 10% increase of traffic to the website through increased blog posting and email campaigns each month
-Analyzed Facebook insights data to create a social media plan for the client based on the past success of organic and paid reach a given time period

-Senior Staff Writer for the Features 2014-2015 section
-Pitched and wrote semiweekly articles for the news and features section of the newspaper on engaging, sensitive and featured content, such as restaurant reviews and individual student profiles.
-One article about a student who battled an eating disorder before finding recovery received over 2,000 views.
