FFE Specification/Installation

With over 20 years of outdoor Industry experience, my background includes serving as a manager and buyer within both sales and retail environments.  These roles varied both in vision and style – The Kayak Centre, Patagonia, Toad and Co. and The Tannery.  In addition to these experiences, I have gained considerable problem solving skills as a ACA watersports instructor with a concentration in paddleboard and kayak. I am very driven and dedicated to everything I do, and the outdoor industry allows me to do what I love and appreciate doing it. 

Point Line Space, Inc is an interior design firm specializing in services for educational institutions. The firm provides educational space planning, casework design and documentation, furniture, equipment and technology selection, documentation and procurement services. Responsibilities within this role included managing a crew on job sites, completing punch lists, reading and understanding CAD drawings, paying close attention to small details, researching equipment and furniture needs for future projects, and creating budgets. Apart from these tasks I also helped with research and development of a special needs safe room for students, which included building and testing prototypes, market research, and school feedback.

Leader and role model to a sales team of 25+ employees. Established and exceeded monthly sales goals through effective and creative marketing, merchandising and promotion. Determined sales projections for directing and
maintaining adequate inventory levels of kayaks, paddleboards and accessories between company’s two coastal store locations. Implemented and fine tuned inventory processing, allowing for fast order fulfillment, customer satisfaction and communication with vendors. Hiring and ongoing training of all sales personnel in computer use, policy, product knowledge, safety procedures and effective POS techniques. Oversee all daily sales, accounting, cash out, bank deposits. Interface with manufacturer’s reps, organize special promotions, participate in
outdoor industry trade/boat shows.

General Manager/Buyer

Jump started rapid growth of a small outdoors company by increasing revenue more than 26% annually, this was achieved through recognizing consumer trends, introducing new brands, designing effective floor plans, exceptional customer service and training over 25 employees. Additional managerial responsibilities included buying, planning and budgeting accounts, overseeing shipping and receiving, event planning, hiring and letting go of personnel, computer management scheduling and key holder. Position required excellent organizational and communication skills.

Manager/Buyer 

Managed a thriving outdoors business in a busy city through catering to the latest technological and design advances, introducing innovative brands and accessories, implementation of marketing strategies and successfully
maintained 250 dealer accounts. I developed extensive knowledge about products and their respective functions through experience, research and communications with dealers such as Cloudveil, Arcteryx, Burton, North Face,
Montrail, Chaco, Keen, Mountain Hardware and Birkenstock. Position also included budgeting, merchandising, scheduling, key holder and event planning.

Valuable employee to the work force due to high level of familiarity, knowledge and expertise with store merchandise and excellent work ethic. Contributed to overall success of company through personal motivations, dedication, willingness to learn and leadership. Specific responsibilities included shipping and receiving, maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, communication with customers, employees and employers, register sales and opening/closing duties.
