I have been studying various areas of fashion for the past 4 1/2 years in Denton, Tx, which is a little north of Dallas, at the University of North Texas. I began as a fashion design major then changed majors to merchandising two years into college while adding on a minor in business foundations as well Last spring, I decided I was going to double major with a B.S. in digital retailing too since e-commerce, social media and technology overall infusing into the fashion world in every way so rapidly is incredibly intriguing to me and has changed the retail landscape so dramatically and will continue to do so. I attend the only school so far that offers a program strictly centered around e-commerce. I have always had a creative mindset and still love the design aspect of products, so product development is what I first wanted to learn more about once I switched majors from fashion design to merchandising. Since then, I still have a passion for product development and trend forecasting, but if I could find the perfect company to utilize my knowledge of web analytics, web design, digital strategies, social media and more while still being able to remain creative and think out-of-the-box in order to create successful products and increase traffic, then that would be my dream job as of now.
