Over the course of my life in motorcycling I have traveled an amazing road walking a line between being a highly successful AMA Hall of Fame off road racer along with being a corporate executive in charge of marketing, sales, product development and racing for several iconic motorcycle companies including KTM, Husqvarna, Zero Motorcycles and BMW. ?Through this journey I have learned a lot about the motorcycle business, met many great people and have enjoyed experiences and relationships that have made me the person I am today. From multiple overall wins at the Baja 1000 and Baja 500 to winning Raid Rallies in North Africa to crossing the finish line at Dakar to creating new products, new companies and new brands I'm extremely grateful for the wide range of opportunities and experiences I've been blessed to be associated with. No matter the size of the challenge I've always reached for the highest rung on the ladder and, while failing gloriously at times, I never let fear of failure guide me.
I am currently taking some time off between assignments and exploring new opportunities and ways to give back to the industry that has given so much to me. I believe the motorcycle industry is facing many challenges and that we are currently going through a major transition. We need new "blood" in the sport and find ways to attract new riders. We need to break through to the youth of America and get them to consider motorcycling as lifestyle option. We need to continue to fight to preserve access to off road riding areas. OHV stewardship, access and advocacy are issues that runs very close to my heart. We are under constant attack and only through coordinated efforts can we preserve off road recreation for future generations. While many only see the challenges adopting to new technologies and expanding the reach of motorcycling as a form of recreation, transportation and a business, I choose to focus on the opportunities.
