Dear Human Resources,
I am applying for the position of Ecommerce Buying Coordinator, as advertised on the Indeed website. I have had numerous years of international experience in the procurement and supply chain management field, being based for the past 10 years in Norway.
My experience in purchasing is numerous and diverse. In the oil and gas sector, I solicited companies/factories to ascertain their competence to produce a highly regulated and well documented product. Once a vendor list was compiled and tabulated, I solicited the top 3 companies that could produce the desired product(s) based on price, quality and delivery. Products included, but were not inclusive to deck cranes and lattice boom cranes for oil rigs and ships, winches, hose reel stations, high pressure manifolds, mud gas separators and control cabins for crane operators.
I would write the contract and annotate the technical specifications, negotiate the price and any additional sub-contractor work prices that may be needed during production. Once the product was complete and factory acceptance tested, along with third party verification, I would finalize the remaining payments and analyze all documentation that pertained to each individual product. I was site manager at factories and shipyards in Poland and China, overseeing mechanical work by engineers, sub-contractors and quality control personnel. Numerous products associated with numerous projects would be ongoing simultaneously at various locations with negotiations ongoing, so multi-tasking is second nature to me.
In addition to my experience in purchasing, I bring numerous years of managerial and sales skills to the scm position. As assistant sales manager at Liberty Mountain Sports in Wilsonville, Oregon, I co-managed a staff of 10 sales representatives and buyers in opening new markets for climbing and camping gear to retail vendors. My success as opening large chain stores to wholesale purchases was an achievement in retail at that time. My experience assists in long term analysis of the procurement process, budget forecasting, and cultivating relationships for the long term.
As dean of academic affairs in Portland, Oregon for ITT Technical Institute, I managed a staff of 65 full and part time employees and over 600 students. I interviewed, hired, trained, promoted, and disciplined staff. I hosted faculty advisory committee functions, was a liaison with the technical community, and oversaw quarterly technical award presentations by students.
I am fully confident that I can pass any back ground checks, employment and education verification and drug tests. Let’s set up an interview and discuss how my qualifications can further your objectives. I will be in Orange County in early June.
