Since 2005, I have used my background in mechanical engineering in both design and manufacturing functions. As a design engineer, I developed new products that solved design issues for customers. In my latest role, as a manufacturing technology engineer, I solve process problems on the manufacturing floor by incorporating new technological improvements. I work in an aerospace plant that is a first-tier supplier to the major airplane OEMs. I enjoy working in environments that are fast-paced and changing. In previous roles, I was responsible for the process implementation and control over 6 product lines, and machinery valued over $10M in capital. Many process related issues occurred as we implemented new products on the plant; in 2014 alone, I improved ID grinding processes by managing trials with a variety of abrasives and dress rate speeds and frequencies, resulting in a decrease of defects by 10%. I look forward to leveraging my experience into an opportunity as an engineering manager.
