Dear Hiring Committee:
Local social media and marketing work in Washington’s Snohomish County is my kind of adventure. My goal is to work with a company that is dedicated to creating a livelier environment for their business with communication, social media, SEO analytics and creative writing.
Growing up on technology and social media in Snohomish County, then earning my degree in Integrated Strategic Communication at Washington State University’s Edward R. Murrow College of Communication, I bring strategic leadership and adaptive abilities in marketing and communication.
Throughout my tenure at WSU, I had the opportunity to complete two communication internships and work on projects for local clients, giving me applied experience in industry and agency work. My work for clients included marketing analysis, social media and development of complete integrated plans. Further, I created portfolios and conducted presentations regarding items like social media content, strategies and editorial calendars. I minored in business administration to further my understanding of how to create prestige written and visual marketing content. My schooling and internships helped tune skills I used as a marketing specialist and copywriter at Vaughan Premier, Ltd., and as a social media researcher, creator and consultant for my pro bono jobs with local businesses. I have numerous recommendation letters and work portfolios available.
Prior to my time at WSU, I was a reporter and editor for The Clipper, writing mostly feature stories. I “caught the journalism bug” while conducting personal interviews for feature stories at Lake Stevens High School as a reporter and feature section editor for The Valhalla.
My stable and prolific work results in excellent relationships with those around me. I have a reputation for quality work, making deadlines, exercising open-mindedness, exceeding expectations and goals, remaining ambitious and determined, and adapting to a leader or a collaborator role in any circumstance.
I am on a mission to assist in the creation of an engaged and more united community with you and your audience. I look forward to meeting new people, approaching new projects, and gaining new experiences and tools. I believe that starts with not only hard work, passion and communication, but honesty as well. After all, as Edward R. Murrow once said, “To be persuasive we must be believable; to be believable we must be credible; credible we must be truthful.”
I look forward to hearing from you.
