It is with keenness that I send in my information for consideration for the Production Assistant Position. I am looking for a position which will challenge me and allow for professional development. After discovering this employment opportunity, I found that it not only fits my current interests but also my professional trajectory.
At Wake Forest University, I received a B.A. in Communications and a minor in Film Studies, which helped me explore the theoretical and technical aspects of audio and visual multimedia. As an undergraduate I continued to pursue real-world technical experiences and mastery of programs that I was exposed to for multiple years in my television production courses in high school. Throughout my tenure at Wake Forest I was part of the Wake TV team, where my initial focus was on camera composition and technical program solving. Within a couple years I gained a leadership position as the interim director, which involved directing original content and supervising multiple teams working on concurrent projects. My Wake TV experience also provided a space for me learn how to conceptualize, produce, and execute programs.
When searching for additional challenges, I reached out to the producer of 88.5 WFDD, an NPR-affiliated radio station. While I had about 6 years of visual experience before that moment, I wanted to gain more audio mixing experiences. By shadowing and self-teaching, I was quickly able to mix audio for on-air segments that would be distributed throughout the central, North Carolina community. This internship allowed me to reach a high level of familiarity with editing and effects programs while also encouraging me to think outside of the box when storyboarding ideas. These tools became important when I was approached to create a promotional trailer for a Wake Forest theatre production and local arts performers throughout the Winston-Salem community.
With my work at Tennis Channel, I learned how to coordinate schedules and perform several kinds of administrative duties. The skills that I acquired at Tennis Channel have helped me become more comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and taught me efficiency when communicating with my colleagues. In addition, I was exposed to working both individually and on teams to get projects completed to the expectations of our clients.
I can begin working as soon as possible and feel as though the professional experiences that I have gathered will allow me to become successful in this position.
Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you and hope to have the opportunity to speak with you about working for this company.

Sincerely,
Andree Wallace
