Field Instructor, Course Director, Trainer 

My goal is to propel brands, teams, and organizations toward their mission and beyond their loftiest
aspirations.

Instructed wilderness expeditions from 5-50 days in length, for students of all ages, including struggling teens, college students, military veterans, professionals, and corporate groups. 

Managed multiple instructor pairs and expeditions in the field simultaneously. 

Trained new and returning staff, from intern cohorts and fellow trainers.  

Freelance writer and photographer for print and digital action and outdoor sports publications. Words and images to capture the authentic experience. Create original editorial content specializing in action sports, travel, culture, and wilderness.

Managed all recruiting, hiring, and training for Voyageur Outward Bound School, part of the international Outward Bound network. 

Successfully achieved recognition for Voyageur Outward Bound School as 100 Best Places to Work in Outside Magazine in 2016 & 2017.

Staffing Director 

Collaborated with customers and provided product expertise to meet their goals. Recognized at all locations for outstanding customer service. Worked with merchandisers to create in-store marketing content. Worked as key holder and sales associate at Atlanta store in 2007. Continued work as sales associate for Patagonia during the winter seasons 2008-2010 in D.C. and St. Paul retail stores.

Key Holder and Retail Sales Associate 

Taught snowboarding to kids and adults of all ability levels. Instructed weekly Winter Ride Program for local Whatcom County middle school students. 

Raced in Mt. Baker Legendary Banked Slalom locals qualifier. I did not qualify, but my soul became complete!

Snowboard Instructor 

Directed the wilderness program for the First Year Experience for all incoming freshmen. Supervised CC's outdoor programs, gear rental room, climbing wall, and student-run outdoor clubs including the Climbing Association, Freeride Union, and the Outdoor Recreation Committee.
