Summary

While I am a recent graduate of the University of Louisville's J.B. Speed School of Engineering, I have experience in a multitude of specialties within mechanical engineering. I had 3 academic internships with Belcan Engineering where I worked in design engineering and finite element analysis. They recently brought me back full time to continue work in FEA.

I am an avid outdoorsman, frequently backpacking, hiking, rock climbing, and skiing. Skiing is easily my biggest passion. I love being in the mountains and hiking up a steep pass for the view at the top. I enjoy and respect the power of nature and its ability to make you have to think on your feet. My time in sports and the outdoors has made me resourceful and an excellent problem solver.

I also worked in a few drafting departments to put myself through school. Fabricated Metals LLC and WireCrafters LLC are the two companies where I worked as a draftsman. I primarily worked in AutoCAD at WireCrafters to create shop drawings of custom projects for customers. I primarily worked with manual drawings and laser programming using MicroStation at Fabricated Metals. These companies were great because they allowed me to come in, learn a new skill, and work hard to support myself through school.

I am most skilled when it comes to the technological side of mechanical engineering. CAD programs come very easily to me, and I have 2 years experience working with ANSYS for finite element analysis. I even have dabbled in coding using C, C++, and Java.

Finite element analysis is my area of expertise at the moment, and where I work full time. FEA is truly an impressive field, because there is so much that can be done with it. ANSYS itself is such a robust software, and you can simulate almost anything. From static stress analysis, fluid mechanics, and even magnetic field analysis, there is no limit to what can be accomplished with ANSYS. I have just scratched the surface, but look forward to learning everything I can.

In addition to these technical skills, I enjoy working with teams and people. I am a confident presenter and effective communicator. I believe my personality is my greatest strength. My ability to evaluate what every member of a team brings to the table and get that team to work together has been proven in many group project environments and team environments.
