Student-Athlete at Boston University Majoring in Advertising in the College of Communications with a concentration in Political Science. Recipient of the Irv Heller Hall of Fame Scholarship, this award is presented to an undergraduate or graduate student-athlete who exhibit good sportsmanship and citizenship. The recipient is chosen by the Office of Financial Assistance in consultation with the Director of Athletics.
At BU, I am a Participant of the BU Bloom Family Leadership Academy, nominated by my coach based on my leadership qualities. Facilitator for the One Love Foundation, founded in honor of Yardley Love, a UVA Women's lacrosse who was murdered by her boyfriend. The One Love Foundation was founded to educated and aware the dangers of relationship violence. Facilitator for the HEADstrong Foundation campaign to help raise money for victims and families affected by cancer. Rider and volunteer for Bike to the Beach over the past three years. Bike to the Beach is a 100 mile bike ride from Boston, MA to Newport, RI with benefits going to Autism Speaks.
Academically at BU, I have had a vast range of courses learning Social Sciences, Economics, Humanities, Rhetoric, Mathematics and much more. In regards to my major, I have taken courses such as Communication Writing, Writing for Mass Communications, Mass Communication Research, Introduction to Advertising, Ad Management, and New Design and Media. I have developed skills in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.
Through my work experience I have used my knowledge of advertising and marketing and applied them to my work with M.F. Irvine and Associates and the Shmeet App. Coaching has given me skills such as communication skills, punctuality, and leadership.
Being a student-athlete at Boston University has developed my skills, especially time management, communicating skills, and most importantly my ability to work effectively in teams.
