Freelance Apparel Designer - Etnies 

I am an accomplished, highly motivated, and creative Apparel Designer with more than 15 years of professional experience. I have worked at Sole Technology a globally recognized leader in action sports footwear and apparel for 16 years. I believe this says a great deal about my passion and dedication to doing what I love. Over the years, I have made huge contributions to the growth and success of Sole Technology’s strongest brand’s in the market. I have played an instrumental role in the apparel programs including designing for the core skate brand Emerica as well as the apparel design and launch of the skate inspired lifestyle brand Altamont from it’s conception in 2006. The past couple of years, I have broadened my experience working with a small design team on a high-end menswear line Matiere. 


Freelance Apparel Designer - Etnies (Men's)
Conceptualization, trend forcasting, design men’s pants, jacket’s, woven top’s, knit top’s, fleece, and accessories.
• Fulfill all regional design needs
• Responsible for creating and finalizing seasonal direction boards and color palette briefs with Apparel Director/Design Manager.
• Design innovative and compelling apparel. On a seasonal basis develop relevant products that speak to the brand stories.
• Design the cut and sew category and accessories while providing leadership and direction on all categories. 
• Responsible for all t-shirt techpacks, art sizing, placement, layout, and colors.
• Build Tech Packs with high attention to details & accuracy. Oversee and review tech packs for all categories.
• Issue Specs
• Maintain/Update T/P changes, fabric card changes, spec changes throughout the design process.
• Implement Visual Line Plan/Brand Overviews seasonally, maintaining overviews with all updated information with emphasis on accuracy with
timely updated sketches, styles no's, vendors, fabrications, serving as a working tool for all team members working on the design/development
process of the lines.
• Quick-Strike Projects & Altamont Direct To Consumer special projects.

Conceptualization, trend forcasting, design/development (all categories)
• Ensure high degree of integrity in communicating designs, details, fabrications, and specs.
• Work with Design Director/Design Team designing Matiere line. 
• Trend/Product Research: Building Pinterest board with current trend, styling, design details, and silhouettes.
• Create and design silhouettes, color palette, trims, and finalizing with Design Manager.
• Issue style names & style no's seasonally ensuring orderly process.
• Build Tech Packs with high attention to details & accuracy. Oversee and review tech packs for all categories.
• Issue Specs
• Vendor communications: converting files, sending out seasonal T/P's to vendors, and follow up confirmations of receipt of T/Ps.
• Maintain/Update T/P changes, fabric card changes, spec changes throughout the design process.
• Issue all visual style comments in timely manner ensuring quick turn around and an organized review by Design Director (1st proto, sms, pp).

Apparel Designer

Conceptualization, trend forcasting, design and development of men’s pants, jacket’s, woven top’s, knit top’s, sweater’s, and fleece, and
accessories.
• Design specific categories for Altamont/oversee Emerica apparel program, including apparel/accessories design, merchandising, and sourcing.
• Responsible for creating and finalizing seasonal direction and color palette briefs with Apparel Merchandise Manager.
• Direction mood boards for design presentations, including color, fabric, and design inspiration.
• Create and design silhouettes, print artwork, color palette, trims/embellishments.
• Management of labels and trim tech packs / Complete full technical package for designs. Oversee and review tech packs for all categories.
• Approval of trims, fabrics, and color lab dips for salesman samples. 
• Research through domestic and international travel: core, mainstream, and lifestyle accounts.
• Maintain target margin costs. Work with development team and vendors to ensure costing.

Sr. Apparel Designer

Conceptualization, trend forcasting, design and development of men’s pants, jacket’s, woven top’s, knit top’s, sweater’s, and fleece, and
accessories.
• Fulfill and manage all regional design needs: Americas, Canada, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
• Responsible for creating and finalizing seasonal direction mood boards and color palette briefs with Apparel Director.
• Design innovative and compelling apparel. On a seasonal basis develop relevant products that speak to the brand stories.
• Manage associate apparel/accessories designer in the execution of garments and accessories.
• Design the cut and sew category while providing leadership and direction on all categories.
• Responsible for pre-production and production approvals all categories.
• Implement cost savings procedures on all categories working closely with development team to ensure target costs.
• Work closely with team-riders and oversee seasonal contributing artist projects to ensure quality designed collections.


Design and conceptualization of the entire Emerica Apparel Line with general management of the following categories:  denim, non-denim,
jacket’s, woven top’s, knit tops, sweater’s, fleece, accessories.
• Increased Emerica revenue 111% (2004-2005)
• Creation and design of seasonal themes; silhouettes, print artwork, color palette, trims and embellishments.
• Completion of full tech package for designs. Oversee and maintain tech packs for all categories.
• Create mood boards for design presentation, including color, fabric, and design inspiration.
• Work with multiple departments; product development, tech design, catalog art department, sales and marketing.
