Ski Technician

I am a software engineer and an enthusiastic member of the outdoor industry with a demonstrated history of working in the leisure, travel & tourism industry. I learn quickly and build beautiful, functional things. I am available for freelance work.

I’ve lived a life rich in adventure and wealthy in relationships. I believe life is meant for pursuing the wealth of experiences the world has to offer and the true path to happiness is a spontaneous, free, engaged experience. I work with my hands and live to see the fruits of my labor become reality; on the river or designing a program. I work quickly, I make beautiful things, and I adeptly and calmly find solutions to questions.

480-hour software engineering course with an emphasis on current trends and functional knowledge.

Software Engineering Immersive Student

This is a seasonal position where I manage all of the ins and outs of running a Swiftwater Safety Course. I compiled rosters, med forms, and payments for over 60 two to three day long classes for 16+ instructors. Managed all communications between students regarding questions they may have in a timely manner. Requires a high level of organization, effective communication, and familiarity with Wordpress and Excel.

Operations and Website Manager

·      Provide high quality and speedy service at a busy restaurant in the center of town.
·      Have a working knowledge of all cocktails, liquors, and cuisines offered.
·      Prepare and design creative cocktails for the drink list.

Bartender

·     Provide professional and speedy service in a small heli-ski lodge and restaurant on Thompson Pass.
·     Ensure cleanliness of all guest rooms in a timely, efficient, and friendly manner while maintaining the privacy of guests.
·     Work shifts between four and eight hours in length depending on lodge needs.

Bartender/Server/Housekeeper

·      Safely navigated multiple rivers for 1-5 day float trips in Idaho, Oregon, Montana, and Washington between 8 and 20 miles in one day, in Class II - Class IV whitewater.
·      Prepared all meals for guests on a daily basis, including salmon, lasagna, and prime rib.
·      Maintained a high level of guest satisfaction during prolonged time with guests. Represented ROW in its mission, and shared knowledge of the local ecosystem with guests.
·      Regularly worked 6am - 10pm on the river cooking, rowing, and photographing the guest experience.

River Guide

·      Instructed students with adaptive capabilities to enjoy skiing, snowboarding, or sit-skiing.
·      Maintained knowledge of best practices, equipment, and safe use of equipment.
·      Ensured that the students had fun and were not pushed beyond their limits.

Adaptive Ski Instructor

·      Safely navigated three stretches of water on the Snake River, including a 13 mile scenic float, an 8 mile scenic float to an overnight camp, and an 8 mile stretch of Class III-IV whitewater.
·      Was physically capable of multiple trips per day rowing (center mount frame or stern mount) or paddle guiding: up to five whitewater trips and three scenic trips.

·      Developed skills with equipment and teaching skiers of all types including but not limited to skiers who are blind or deaf and skiers with developmental disabilities or physical impairments.
·      Worked with the PR Coordinator to complete writing projects, gathering testimonials/personal stories from clients, and editing the volunteer manual.

Winter Intern

·  Represented the Outing Club in all official capacities. Met weekly with club advisor.
·  Established the trip schedule each semester. Assigned appropriate leader pairs to trips based on medical certifications and personality types.
· Ran weekly club council meetings to update student leaders on club policy, discussed ways to improve trips, and developed positive relationships with Outing Club leaders.
