I have spent 16 of my 18 years, being outside as much as possible. Mainly climbing. When I turned 13 I received a PADI Open Water Certification, and about the same time moved to La Jolla California, where I attended high school and got an internship at a now-defunct dive center "I.B. Divers", where I cleaned gear, made retail sales, and went on every dive I could (totaling a little over 300), eventually I was allowed to help teach our basic open water classes (we were a NAUI Institution), while never being able to achieve the next level of certification myself as the company went bankrupt before I could. I have spent the past 3 years working with kids in a variety of settings, from swim instructing for the YMCA, teaching climbing for local climbing gyms, dive instructing, etc.
