I am a motivated Mechanical Engineer with over three years of experience in the automotive and optical engineering industry.
While at the University of Arizona, I was the Mechanical Engineering lead on my Senior Design Project. We designed, built, and tested a thermal sensor system for a fixed wing UAV that monitored the local power company's transmission lines. After two years of part time work at Arete Associates while completing my undergraduate degree at the University of Arizona, I continued working full time gaining valuable design and lab experience. Projects consisted of building and inspecting optical assemblies, cable drawing design, test fixture design, 3-D printing, and build assembly scheduling. While working there, I consulted with a local start-up, New Guilds, LLC, helping the lead product designer analyze drawings and communicate with the overseas manufacturers.
Currently, I am pursuing a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA with an expected graduation date of December 2018. For my thesis, I am studying the thermal effect of aerogel on corrugated composite structures. I was selected to present my research at CAMX, a leading composites and materials conference, in Dallas this October. I am currently looking to bring my job experience and academic success into a technical job opportunity in the materials and structures, thermal, and test engineering fields with an emphasis on sustainable goods and resources.
