Director of Merchandise Planning and Operations

Experienced director in DTC buying, merchandising, planning, and allocation for international brands. Experienced in assortment planning, inventory management, reduction and reflowing of buying budgets, growing revenues and gross margin, and licensed product vendor relationships. Excited by the constantly changing retail environment on all levels from in-store or online customer experience to the corporate office; always strategically thinking of new ways for the company to be successful in the present and future.

• Lead team of 9 on the buying, planning, and allocation team for Retail, E-Comm, Concessions, and Outlets in North America. Partnering with the heads of Retail, Concessions, and E-Comm channels to ensure the planning/buying strategy was executed and aligned for the channel. Reported to North America CEO and a member of the lead team.
• Managed the merchandising and buying strategy and product flow of seasonal buys and key item replenishment programs; beginning from the preseason brief to design/global merchandising, to proto, to final sample presentation, and assorting in the showroom.
• Directed the sales plans from a total company level in partnership with the N. America CFO with top-line directives from HQ based senior management. Responsible for 3 planners executing the budgets by store and category for sales and receipts. Managed the 2 topline re-projections per year based on trends and actions in addition to the budget.
• Oversaw the completion of the seasonal receipt plans by channel down to the product group level for seasonal buys and the open-to-buy for Long Life product.
• Oversaw the Allocation Manager whose duties included replenishment, warehouse stock management, sizing analysis, and transfers/consolidations, as well as following up on the receipt of ASN's.

Director of Buying, Planning, and Allocation

• Maintained separate USA and Canada sales plans and OTB's the 12 departments of Girl's Apparel.
• Presented the financials (sales, GM$, average costs/retails, receipts, and WOS) to senior management.
• Reviewed sales and receipts with buying and planning management teams each month to ensure proper inventory and reasonability of sales metrics.
• Proposed bi-weekly markdowns and promotional strategies while maintaining sell thru, pricing, and margin goals. Managed promotions and markdowns in IP, delegating to Planning Assistant and ensuring the integrity of his work.
• Trained perspective and new planners on the skills both tactical and strategic to be successful in their new roles.

Merchandise Planner/Buyer

• Created Sales Plans and OTB for 28 stores/e-comm for 15 depts using a top down and bottoms up approach.
• Analyzed sales, inventory, and deliveries to achieve productive inventory, and aided buying recommendations.
• Gave input to senior management regarding long-term strategy and sales potential by store and department.
• Verified that buys had balance in basics and fashion, and in absence of buyers, conducted store buys by SKU.
• Developed and managed store min/max sales levels for permanent stocked items, also acting as the point person to Hermès International for stock management.
