VP/GMM Merchandising

Sr. Merchandising leader reporting directly to the President.  
•	2020 YTD Results; Sales +12%, Gross Profit +263bps, EBITDA +844bps to plan.
•	General merchandise responsibility for Fashion (Apparel, Footwear, Health & Beauty), Home 
(Home Furnishings, Home Improvement, Housewares, and Lawn and Garden), Entertainment (Toys, Sports and Recreation, and Electronics), $940M in annual revenue.
•	Led implementation of fundamental reboot of merchandising strategy using Destination, Drive, and Deliver methodology to align enterprise around allocation of effort and resources. 
•	Initiated and led evaluation of Private Brands productivity and ROIC resulting in a decision to exit improving free cash flow by $8M, reducing average inventory by $20M and returns by 650bps. 
•	Led vendor (45%) and sku reduction (65%) efforts to improve organizational effectiveness, leverage in negotiations, and customer experience.
•	Partnered with Marketing to reset enterprise customer understanding and focus which led to a fundamental shift in merchandising strategy. 
•	Developed Talent and Culture to create a team of agile decision makers empowered to run their businesses.  


Responsible for all merchandising functions and the re-launch of Gander Outdoors and Overton's
• Lead merchant for Gander Outdoors, expanded responsibility to include Camping World Retail and Overton's representing $750M in revenue, responsible for P&L.
• Led multifunctional teams to drive merchandising strategy; Merchandising, Inventory, POG, Visual
Merchandising, Product Design and Development as well as financial planning and control.
• Worked closely with the Ecommerce team to develop an Omni channel strategy and to drive success
metrics; Traffic, Conversion, SEO, SEM, and Google Analytics.
• Led company through transition from bankruptcy to open 62 stores under in 12 months; strategy, branding, systems, in store fixtures and signage, contracts, and product assortments.
• Responsible for hiring, coaching, and development of team totaling nearly 100 to attract and retain
talented and motivated team members.

Vice President Merchandising

Charged with leading teams and strategies to maximize revenue and profit. Directly responsible for the following functions and teams; Inventory Planning, Merchandise Presentation and Visual Merchandising,
Strategic Pricing, and Merchandising Segmentation.
• Established key performance metrics, reporting and rigor around key item ($ and Units) instocks, high volume stores, and known value items.
• Directed new inventory disciplines to reduce inventory while maintaining instock performance
resulting in a 20% ($100.0M) reduction in overall inventory.
• Formalized pricing policy and procedures, created Strategic Pricing team, brought clearance
optimization engine (COE) on board.
• Improved merchandising presentation performance with enhanced timelines, improved guardrails
and guidelines, and focus on High and Low volume stores.
• Led creation of merchandising segmentation initiatives to deliver localized assortments.
• Led team through Chapter 11 bankruptcy and liquidation of 162 locations.

Vice President Merchandising Operations

Responsible for development of B2B and B2C marketing and execution for the College Division.  Product
categories included; class rings, championship rings, diplomas and diploma frames, announcements, and academic regalia. Was also responsible for budget oversight and team development.
