Nick Cantrell is a product designer looking to make his mark in the footwear industry. He is currently finishing a masters degree in Sports Product Design at the University of Oregon in Portland. Knowledge of industrial design, 3D modeling, business marketing, materials, manufacturing, biomechanics, and human physiology. Nick enjoys sneakers, fixed gear bikes, and Japanese cars.

Projects ranging from experimental Basketball Footwear cushioning concepts to future athlete performance technology. Collaboration between consumer insights, retail, run category, basketball category, digital innovation, material development, and material testing.

Innovation Rookie - Footwear + Emerging Tech

Responsible for operating the equipment used in the Sports Product Design Maker Lab. I help students realize their design concepts with 3D printing. Operate and maintain Formlabs SL 3D printers along with a variety of industrial sewing machines.

Technician - SPD Maker Lab

Startup business designing and manufacturing aftermarket body parts for the Subaru WRX platform. A former UO colleague and I created the business through our passion for product design and cars. My role was to design fender flares in 3D programs, have the molds machined, and produce them using fiberglass and ABS plastic. We were awarded the RAINmaker accelerator grant from RAIN Eugene.
