• Work with and coordinate with co-workers and sales reps, their customers and assistants
• Email proofs and supply hard copy comps to reps and sales people as needed/requested
• Fill in as necessary for absent coworkers
Work with deadlines
• Prioritize and re-prioritize as work comes in, multi-task, emergency re-builds, Spec Ads
Multiple deadlines, multiple products.
Preflight
• Preflight camera-ready ads - troubleshoot, confer with necessary persons for further instructions, make necessary corrections, release to database.
• Proofread legals and ads, check seps in InDesign, Acrobat and in print.
Ad building
• Tear apart camera-ready ads and reconfigure to new print sizes
• Build new ads from supplied or gathered art, copy and layout, written and verbal instruction
• Build tab publications - photos (Real Estate Monthly cover) and ads and ad copy
• Build Spec/Job ads on request (birthday, anniversary, business, pets)
• Convert cmyk 2-color ads to black and a spot color (cmyk)
• Convert RGB ads to CMYK/SWOP colors
Photo Manipulation
• Build full and partial page realtor and auto ads (Hertz) - process all photos and style/proofread copy according to the layout specifications (Spotlight, Windermere, Tour These Homes)
• Build obits, photos (color and black & white), style copy, some variation in style per customer request
• Scan photos, art, ads on HP Scanner
• Process photos for ads, obits, tabs and the classified section
Multiple Programs, Filing, Scanning, Faxing, Phones
• Build/update/send to print: inserts (fliers), to in-house printing, 2-up BW; or to QSL, Full or Spot Color
• Check in new or reworked ads on paper and/or file systems, refile as ad is worked or sent to proof/plate
• Go on-line to fetch comics and puzzles for the classified section - process, place in shell and release to database
• Work with full-bleed files, double trucks
• Paste up (first 3 years only-then completely on computer), learn new software every few years
• Lay out classified section for plate.
