Ship Area Manager

Government Ship Repair; Perform extensive duties during the management of United States Naval vessel maintenance. Develop, estimate and execute the basic work specifications submitted by the South West Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC). Drive schedule by coordinating maintenance efforts and focusing on communication between ships force, team members and sub-contractors to minimize delays in project. Provide technical guidance and execute Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) using NAVSEA Standards. Discovery, drafting of, and submittal of Condition Found Reports (CFR) of any new discrepancies that arise during work item execution and provide estimated cost for labor and material relating to the work specification and any growth work discovered during execution phase. Assist in contract analysis, cost proposal review and negotiations with Assistant Contracting Officer (ACO) and Contract Specialist (CS) when Request for Contract Change (RCC) is issued. Assist Ship Manager, Program Managers and Ship Contractors in managing team members for schedules, materials, timeline and assisting efforts during machinery light off of shipboard propulsion plant
Government and Commercial New Construction; Lead project manager during final stage of ship construction for general cargo storage areas, water ballast tanks, fuel tanks and engine room machinery storage tanks. Daily inspections conducted to ensure safe and standard work processes followed in accordance with the job specific standard operating procedures (SOP). Coordinate work packages, ensure schedule adherence, observe safety performance, and maintain budget to meet project goals. Supported the on-time construction, launch and delivery of two liquefied natural gas-powered containerships, completing 60,000 man-hour projects.

Responsible for the oversight of port operations and schedules to Military Sealift Command (MSC) controlled ships. Under the direction of Ship Support Unit (SSU) - Japan, coordinated with local shipping and logistics departments for on time delivery of ship material and equipment. Facilitated five highly critical pier-side port visits enabling vessels to obtain key services, conduct emergent voyage repairs, execute short notice load outs, and complete special mission maintenance. Enhanced overall mission readiness while developing working relationships with all ships that entered port and met with ship Captains and Chief Engineers conveying MSC guidance and reinforcing Japanese liberty policies.
