Spring Intern

Despite only being expected to graduate in May of this year, I have already completed a year and a half of full time work. I initially interned at a finance and software company in Boston called Eze Software, where I worked with their internal accounting team. From there I went on to work a full year at Wellington Management Company, which was split into two six-month long internships – one being in their Marlborough and Boston offices and the other being in their London office

TeleSense is an IoT (Internet of Things) startup that is addressing the issues of remote monitoring and control of conditions inside grain storage units. 
During this internship I am working on a series of different tasks. This includes conducting market research, lead generation, and developing marketing material. Unlike a position at an established company with a set job description, I am supporting the team wherever I can. Due to the fast-changing environment, my daily tasks may vary depending on the urgency of that day.

- Responsibilities included those also executed in Boston
- Processed and booked corporate action events that hit both live and model Wellington accounts using both
Bloomberg and internal programs
- Rebalanced, loaded and analyzed different internally held benchmark reports
- Developed strong working relationship with managers. Through that, was given the autonomy and responsibility to
lead the department and train incoming intern for two weeks with little to no oversight

Portfolio Services Intern

- Investigated and resolved non-working balances of a series of foreign accounts within different client portfolios by
collaborating with internal departments and different banks on the issues found
- Assisted on Adhoc requests from different internal departments and banks to research and resolve non-working
balances in foreign accounts
- Performed purchase/sale of foreign currencies in order to adjust the balance in client portfolios
- Constructed a presentation on role. Described where role fits within the department, what it impacts in a firm-wide
perspective, what are the implications for clients, potential risks faced, and good practices to keep errors from
occurring

Transactional Control Intern

- Allocated thousands of dollars in customer payments daily in order to match them to the correct invoice/account
- Collaborated with the billing department to correct previous allocation errors by performing cash moves and
reaching out to clients
- Acquired company’s fixed assets by performing depreciation analysis, coding of invoices, inputting assets into
AX, and working with A/P to fix any recording discrepancies
- Constructed a presentation on fixed assets. Described topics such as the reasons for acquisition process, what this
process consists of, specifically how fixed assets affect financial statements, how they relate to prepaid expenses,
and performed an interdepartmental analysis of why they matter to the company
- Participated in department training sessions and received exposure to consulting through joining new hire
orientations, and product and process demonstrations
