Meghan Roos is a news, music and culture reporter who grew up and is based in Southern California. She began working as a freelance music journalist while studying communication and history as an undergraduate at UC San Diego, where she completed her studies in 2012. After spending a few years freelancing, Meghan enrolled in the Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute at New York University and completed her master’s degree in cultural reporting and criticism in 2015.
Meghan spent a year as a promotions manager at the UC San Diego Department of Music before accepting a position as an editor at Women’s Running magazine. She worked as the Women’s Running web editor for two years before shifting to local news reporting as a digital news producer at FOX 5 San Diego.
Meghan is currently a breaking news writer at Newsweek and continues to write about music and culture in her spare time.
