Meghan Roos

Summary

Meghan Roos is a news, music and culture reporter who grew up and is based in Southern California. She began working as a freelance music journalist while studying communication and history as an undergraduate at UC San Diego, where she completed her studies in 2012. After spending a few years freelancing, Meghan enrolled in the Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute at New York University and completed her master’s degree in cultural reporting and criticism in 2015.

Meghan spent a year as a promotions manager at the UC San Diego Department of Music before accepting a position as an editor at Women’s Running magazine. She worked as the Women’s Running web editor for two years before shifting to local news reporting as a digital news producer at FOX 5 San Diego.

Meghan is currently a breaking news writer at Newsweek and continues to write about music and culture in her spare time. Her work has been published by Blues Rock Review, Competitor, Consequence of Sound, Elmore Magazine, FOX 5 San Diego, High Voltage Magazine, Interview Magazine, Noisey, PopMatters, Rock and Roll Globe, San Diego CityBeat, San Diego Reader, The San Diego Union-Tribune, San Francisco Weekly, Women's Running and 1146miles.com.
