For 20+ years I have worked in an inventory or production control capacity, be it with small electronics or Aerospace components and assemblies.  Interaction with Quality Control, Engineering and Program Management personnel.  Limited interaction with customer re: schedules and shipments. 
 
I’ve been involved with New Development projects for Aerospace, which consists of engineering change requirements, compressed customer schedules and qualification testing schedules.

At Arrowhead Products I expedited aerospace components and assemblies. Starting with discussing the deliveries of raw materials (aluminum, titanium and stainless steel from mills) and electronic hardware from our vendors through the Purchasing Dept.  Once these items reached our warehouse I released work orders to our machine shop or punch presses or bellows areas, following these components to our assembly areas up to Final Inspection and even into shipping area where sometimes we even helped pack the items (especially at month end when Shipping Dept was very busy). I had to help update progress reports for our Program Management Group in Excel at least 2 - 3 times a week. I had to track all scrapped items and all rejected items through Engineering and Quality Depts. Also had to report any tooling issues or Drawing/Planning problems with M.E. Dept.   Our MRP system was called BPCS which stands for Business Planning Consumer Systems.

Production Scheduler II

At Astech I expedited large honeycomb sheets of material from one dept to another plus we expedited insulation so that it reached the final assembly dept at the same time the honeycomb sheets reached that area. Other expeditors took control of the hardware through Final Assembly and Inspection areas. We kept track of scrap and rejected items through Engineering and Quality Depts. Also had to report any Tooling problems.

At De La Rue Printrak I started as a junior buyer, helped upload all our inventory onto a brand new system (Tandy Radio Shack computer system) and then started releasing work orders to the shop floor so they could charge their assembly time to them, I also worked in the store room and helped put kits together for the shop floor. I checked on the progress of the assembly of fingerprint computer systems for daily status meetings reporting any problems, delays, Engineering/Drawing errors, Tooling problems, etc
