Engineering Public Relations and Term Contracts Manager

First marketing hire for a 22-year-old environmental remediation and emergency hazmat spill response company in Montana and Idaho. Headed up all marketing and business development activities. Responsible for both strategic and tactical marketing. Reported to the president.
•	Developed the company’s first brand guide.
•	Moved aggressively to apply company branding to company trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, and job sites.
•	Developed and implemented standardized email signatures. This strengthened brand awareness and helped raise awareness of our emergency phone numbers, our website, and our social media pages.
•	Kick-started earned media through press releases and social media.
•	Successfully rescued company website from a proprietary, end-of-life website platform and rebuilt it as a self-managed WordPress site on a fast and reliable host with the latest caching and image compression features for improved technical SEO.
•	Achieved unprecedented highs in all the top-level metrics for our website (referring domains, backlinks, organic traffic, organic keywords, etc.).
•	Implemented elements of capture management and greatly increased the number of government contracts we responded to and won.
•	Built email database and started a quarterly email marketing program to increase top-of-mind awareness among our extensive list of current and past clients.
•	Set up HubSpot CRM to manage and track business development activities. Encouraged voluntary adoption among managers by sharing examples of how it can make their jobs easier and increase information-sharing among the three offices.

Efforts resulted in an increase in SBIR/STTR awards to MSU researchers and MSU-connected companies.
*	Interviewed subjects and wrote nominations for Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer Awards. One of my two nominations won.

Program Lead

Founded a company to develop and bring to market innovative products that shorten the performance feedback loop for swimmers. The company's first product, PaceWatch, was a slim, wearable pace clock that was simple to use and easy to see, enabling swimmers to focus on their swimming.

Founder

*	Conducted research for a comprehensive study on the nationwide economic impact of the Air Force SBIR and STTR programs.
*	Identified success stories and collected supporting content for use in videos and publications about the Air Force SBIR and STTR programs.

Project Manager

Managed operations of the Microsoft Windows 8 Campus Tour at Montana State University. Trained and managed a team of student brand ambassadors. Led and participated in demonstrations of Windows 8 on Microsoft Surface tablets. Conducted giveaways.

Brand Manager

Directed all communications for the MSU Foundation, then did the same for the MSU Alumni Foundation after the merger with the MSU Alumni Association. This included creative direction, design, writing, managing projects, managing vendors, managing social media accounts and websites, supervising communications staff, strategic planning and more.
*	Co-directed communications for the high-profile EZ (End Zone) Campaign, which raised over $10 million for a football stadium expansion project in less than six months.
*	Directed MSU's first "text-to-give" campaign, which surpassed our participation goal for the entire campaign in the first day.
*	Integrated video into MSU's annual giving email campaign.
*	Prepared scripts and talking points for various university leaders, including the head football coach, deans, the athletic director, the CEO of the foundation, and the president of the university.
*	Occasional ghostwriter for the CEO of the foundation and the president of the university.

Communications Director

Developed and managed lifecycle strategy for wireless products and services. Defined and executed product, pricing, promotion, channel support and marketing strategies.
*	Reformulated phone pricing for entire line-up, resulting in phone subsidy being under budget for the first time in 17 months, while keeping pricing competitive with the nationwide carriers.
*	Managed the requirements and selection process for wireless device portfolio. Successfully launched over a dozen devices.
*	Drove much of the marketing, merchandising and product management activities related to the acquisition and integration of markets in Texas and Oklahoma. This included consolidation of the websites, e-commerce portals, rebate and referral programs and the roadside assistance programs.

Product Marketing Manager

Led and coordinated marketing support for all three sales channels (retail, B2B and indirect) in Montana, Wyoming, Texas, and Oklahoma. Executed marketing programs and managed team of field marketing coordinators.
*	Led cross-functional teams on various projects, including the launch of Universal Service Low Income Support (Lifeline/Link-Up) in Montana and the launch of BlackBerry products and services in Montana and Wyoming.
*	Worked closely with the VP of Marketing and provided significant support with various strategic decisions, creative direction and budgeting.
*	Completed rebranding from Chinook Wireless. Managed brand identity and ensured compliance with Cellular One brand and trademark requirements.

Field Marketing Manager

Managed purchasing, warehousing, and distribution of wireless handsets, accessories, and marketing support materials. Supervised Warehouse & Fulfillment Department staff. Tested and approved products.
*	Led a cross-functional team in the selection of a new cell phone replacement program vendor and managed the transition.
*	Directed $11.8 million in annual spend.
*	Redesigned the reverse logistics process, resulting in faster turnaround time, increased customer satisfaction, and reduced costs for the company and our customers.
*	Eliminated bottlenecks and increased efficiencies in the distribution center, enabling my department to supply twice as many sales locations, stock twice as many SKUs and support a 71% increase in sales volume with only a 25% increase in staff.
*	Managed dealer-consigned and company inventory through periods of record growth.

Product Manager / Inventory Manager

Provided training and comprehensive sales and marketing support to independent telephone companies selling iWireless-branded wireless telecommunications service in their licensed markets.
*	Aggressively drove business plan implementation for wireless consortiums, resulting in all reaching their targets ahead of schedule. One achieved profitability in less than three years.
*	Launched a new market, achieving 5.9% penetration in 36 months (est. 10% share of market).
*	Took over and grew another market from 0.3% to 5.2% penetration in 39 months (est. 9% share of market).

Marketing Consultant

*	Grew distribution from two small local distributors to a statewide network and achieved the second-highest sales year in the history of the company.
*	Directed packaging redesign, unifying the look and feel of disparate products under one cohesive design, while maintaining the unique identities of the individual brands.
*	Directed the development of the company's first interactive website.
*	Developed an email address database, then created and distributed a bimonthly e-newsletter to keep our brands top-of-mind among our customers and other brand evangelists.
