Women's Activewear Associate Designer

Creative and innovative Fashion Designer offering a 3-year background in activewear design and illustration. • Developed seasonal design concepts to improve category depth and breadth. Selected fabrication, chose functional features, and design details for a product line.
• Sketched artistic and fresh designs for consideration. Led aesthetic vision and creation of new fashion products.

• Goal was to ensure new Mk1 Linear Valve Flowline Efficiency at Flowserve Inc. in Springville, UT.
• Some Processes Used: Scrum meetings, Slack, 5’s S, 5 Why’s, and other Lean Manufacturing tools.
• Toured manufacturing facility and interviewed workers to identify bottlenecks in the process.
• Observed the company’s manufacturing line to look for waste or disruptions to the value streamflow.
• Looked for and identified types of waste, disruptions, or process improvements to the value streamflow. Used Lean Manufacturing and Project Management tools. Identified two types of waste: operators waiting, and defects. These were great disruption to the value stream.
• Drew conclusion on large amounts of raw Excel assembly issue data into Pareto Charts, Pie Charts, and Pivot Tables to analyzing the data about the frequency of problems and focus on the most significant areas of issues.
• Took the lead for many areas of the project which increased management skills. Manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization/time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Provided weekly progress reports to stakeholders. Provided a final report and presentation for stakeholders that provided relevant data and suggestions to the company to improve their throughput and cut down on waste.

Project Team Member

• Built distance education course in about 6 weeks with a team of 16.
• Created a design proposal. Built and managed style guide compliance. Designed the slide deck and reviewed each team's slide decks for design consistencies. Created tutorials for aspects of the slide design. Created tutorials for captioning and transcriptions.
• Reviewed each team's transcripts for uniformity. Uploaded and captioned course videos to YouTube. Applied video and audio edits to videos via Adobe Premiere and YouTube.
• Was organized and able to prioritize multiple projects within the program.

Design Team, Captioning & Transcription, Design & Video Editor

• Designed 100's of concept sketches for activewear lines by creating and pitching inspiration and trend boards based on emerging trends for product lines. Sketched artistic and fresh designs for consideration.
• Created technical flats using Adobe Illustrator, including design specific details as need and initiated tech packs for multiple garments. Sketched and assigned light specs to approved designs.
• Worked closely with the owner, ensuring work was cohesive with the brand vision and matched market trends to ensure consumer satisfaction. Used the company's aesthetic vision and creation of new fashion products through researching the market for inspirations for product, fabric, color, and trims.

Women's Activewear Design Assistant

• Identified ways to streamline and improve the efficiency of locating textiles for future production projects. Worked on sample organization and filing with an established system.
• Assisted with garment creation: conception, fabric choices, samples, send-outs, final garments. Edited multiple CAD files using Adobe Illustrator. Assisted with market research.
• Maintained and organized the fabric library. Created and maintained presentation and inspiration boards, line sheet for production use and buyer reference, and textile boards for buyer reference.
• Hand dyed trims of samples to preview aesthetic of design choices.
• Photographed final garments for documentation and later reference as well as potential acquisition garments for associate designer.
• Familiarized with Pantone Binders; matching colors, locating specific tones, and creating color presentations. Exposure to industry software including TAPS and Easy Coloring Prepared and maintained design boards with sketches, fabrics, colors, prints, and trims.
