Mechanical Engineer Intern

Developed a simulation of creep and high-temperature deformation behavior of fuel-clad nuclear reactor tubes under a postulated loss-
of-coolant accidental condition for a Pressurized Heavy Water Reactor.
• Formulated a 3D model (Inventor) of the reactor tubes and simulated its behavior inside the pressure core of the nuclear reactor.
• Conducted a 3-step analysis to formulate a suitable material constitutive model for creep behavior.
• Verified the devised model using existing experimental data and derived the burst times for a range of temperatures (600°C to 1000°C)
and internal pressures (3 bar to 60 bar).
