Mechanical Design Engineer

Multiple years of experience in product and equipment development, design, and manufacturing. Focused on using combinations of hands-on and analytical problem-solving skills to deliver game changing results. 

I thrive on new challenges and to quickly become a subject matter expert. I enjoy working in teams to collaborate and learn from other talented people. 

Although my background is in mechanical engineering, I am not afraid of learning new skills or being stretched into different jobs.

• Developing designs and detailed drawings for parts and complex assemblies using SolidWorks CAD.

• Project lead for data migration and upgrade of over 300,000 CAD files to new PDM system.
• Continually optimizing the data management process through user feedback and feature testing.
• Design and testing of configurable leak test fixtures for the aerospace industry.
  o. Increased the accuracy and safety of testing for operators, as well as overall part handling quality.

• Established a High-Mix-Low-Volume, Configure-to-Order manufacturing facility for premium LED fixtures.
• Assisted with new product introduction (NPI) to the assembly floor and modernizing legacy parts.
• Created production processes (SOPs) and evaluated assembly flow for cost-savings and increases in efficiency.
• Provided hands-on problem solving in production and incorporated solutions into new advances.
• Created assembly line fixtures in SolidWorks and utilized FEA for evaluation of test equipment.

Engineering Contractor

• Led the design and launch of a new product demonstration kit for the sales and marketing team.
   o. R&D in both mechanical and electrical design using 3D printing for prototypes.
• Increased understanding of manufacturing processes and product operations including robotics, electronics, and injection molding.

Product Dev. Intern

• Used SolidWorks to design metal expansion joints, wire braided hoses, and custom fittings.
• Produced full quotes including BOMs, sourced pricing, detailed drawings, and structural analysis.
