Getting started is the hardest part of writing a business plan. This two day workshop will help you create an outline of what it is you need to include in your individual business plans. You will also receive tips on how to do research for your specific niche market.
So many people nowadays are juggling family, work and some people have even gone back to school, so setting aside some free time each day to sit down and write a few paragraphs or pages may be difficult, and before you know it, your entrepreneurial spirits feel defeated because you just cannot find the time to focus on your idea.
This two-day class will give you some of that time to center on your aspirations without interruptions from spouses/partners, kids, or your boss. You will have a chance to concentrate on certain parts of a business plan, and it will give you that kick start you have been in need of for so long.
You are also encouraged to bring your laptops or smart tablets as part of the class will focus on doing much needed target market and industry related research. You will be shown how and where to find some much needed information to start your business plan.
Along with the PowerPoints presented in class, you will also receive a workbook to use to jot down those ideas!
Some of the questions we will work on include the following:
Have you written your Executive Summary?
Have you done research on your competitors? If not, do you know how?
Do you know who your target market is?
Have you thought about how you will fund your venture? Perhaps use your own money, a bank loan, or an angel investor? Have you looked into some of the crowd funding sites and if so, would one of them work for you? Will you need a partner?
Do you have a budget? Have you done a break-even analysis?
Have you crunched numbers to make sure this would be a profitable business, and not just a hobby?
Have you written your Mission Statement?
If you have come up with a new product, have you created a prototype? Have you had it tested?
Have you figured out what the costs are to produce this new product, what your wholesale price points will be, and ultimately what would the retail price be
Do you have a marketing strategy?
How will you get the attention of your target market with this new product?
How important is social media to a new product or business?
